Brightly Colored Colorful Dories, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia
_
Atlantic Canada’s many docks in all shapes and sizes connect its people to the sea for work and recreation. There’s also lots of stuff to see while sitting for a spell alongside these bustling docks, a small sense of which can be gleaned in these photos from several relaxing trips to Nova Scotia.

thanks for the visual reminder of childhood summers – I can smell the salt air – so different from my high mountain desert life now.
I agree, the distinctive hint of salt in the air near these coasts conjures up many good memories.
aaahhh…sea air….thank you for the memory boost!
🙂
I am always impressed with your ability to find, focus on and share the vibrant bits of color that are found among ordinary items.
Dan, thanks. That’s made a lot easier by a place such as those coasts where so many vivid colors abound.
Living on the west coast of Canada, it is always great to see photos of the other coast. Must visit one day.
Darlene, both coasts are wonderful and are graced with beautiful scenery. I’ve spent more time on the East Coast so my site tilts that way a little, but I have some West Coast pics and posts up my sleeve.
I look forward to seeing them. Did you see my post on Tofino?

Darlene, thanks for letting me know about your Tofino post, which I just clicked on and read. That’s a place I need to put on my itinerary when I’m next in B.C. Both the coastal scenery and the First Nations art are beautiful. Best, Brett
These photographs are beautiful Brett!
Thanks so much!
lovely
🙂
I have never lived by the sea. Your wonderful photos have brought me there.
One of these days we have to change that for us both!
These photos remind me of my trip to Nova Scotia last year – Lunenberg was definitely a highlight. Thank you!
Yes, Lunenburg is terrific!
The light so crisp
So beautiful, I miss it. Thanks for bringing back memories of last summer.

That first image looks like a painting. Fabulous! Atlantic Canada is not afraid of colour!
Thanks — it’s always nice when a photo comes together that way!
I was just looking at your image of the two Dory boats and I just had to let know how much I love it. I revisit regularly.
Lorna, thanks. Something about those simple dories are appealing. Your own photography is exceptional! Best, Brett
Love your photos. And your quotes! These are making me want to visit for sure! And they remind me a bit of my Denmark photos. (Check them out if you like) Great blog! 🙂
Thanks so much and I’ll look forward to looking at your Denmark photos!
