“The Dream Country” by Andre Philbert
It’s definitely heavy coat and neck scarf weather around here, as it is in many places this time of year, so thoughts of winter cold are unavoidable. This painting, “The Dream Country,” by Montreal artist, Andre Philbert, with its overwhelming shades of blue and houses set with jaunty rooflines perfectly captures the quiet chill of this time of year. More of Philbert’s deep-blue winter landscapes can be seen at the site for Toronto’s Liss Gallery.
Alie says I tend to favor blue in my paintings. I shall have to show her these beauties. We live in southwest Florida where cold today is in the forties Fahrenheit. Our many Canadian “snowbird” friends are disadvantaged by the currency exhange, but they come anyway because they now own homes here for the winter.
Thanks. Yes, there are many snowbirds already down South or headed that way.
That is a gorgeous painting.
Captures winter well!
That looks like winter Brett!
Very much so!
WoW!!! That painting looks real. I thought it was a photograph until I started reading. Thanks for sharing such a stunning painting!!!
