On a recent late Spring visit to Saint John, N.B. the distinctive signs adorning area shops and walls added lots of color and charm to a meandering walk through the city center.

Great work, my friend. Back in the day, I use to meander through Stephenville, Newfoundland.
Stationed there for 18 months… U.S. Air Force! 867 Med Group SAC.
Wonderful! π
My mother worked at that base (she was from UK)! π
I’ve been wondering when a new post from O’Canada would be forthcoming. And now it’s here! The Rogue Coffee Co. sign is particularly intriguing.
Hi, Liz, that’s funny and observant! I was taking a bit of a pause (a little longer than I first anticipated). I like that sign as well! π
Well, I’m glad you’re back!
Some great signs. I must make it there one day!!
Hi, Darlene, yes, Saint John and New Brunswick both have their charms.
Great signs, well-done.

Nice to see you back here, Brett. I’ve missed your posts.
Hi, Anneli and thanks! π
Lovely collection of signs, Brett!

You had me at Pub and Oyster Bar!
Good one! π
Signs reflect the character of the community, and from what youβve captured, Iβm intrigued. Newfoundland is the last part of Canada Iβve yet to visit. Thanks for reminding me to keep high on my bucket list!
Awesome about your travels across Canada. You’ll very much enjoy Newfoundland when you go.
Nice to see you again. π Great sign photos!

So glad to see another post from you. We never got to St. John when in N.B. We did spend several lovely nights in St. Andrews and took the ferry over to Grand Manan. That island was a trip back to the 1950’s and we loved it.
Elizabeth, glad you got to Grand Manan. I’ve been to the ferry crossing that goes there but not yet to that island.
It is absolutely worth it. Rode out in the morning with all the tradespeople. All trucks and our little van.
Very cool!
These are wonderful, Brett – very creative and innovative – and as you mentioned, some have a definite quirkiness about them – all of them a visual delight!
To be honest, I’ve never visited St.John, or even New Brunswick, but I must try and get there sometime.
Good to have you back – thanks for posting these!

Welcome back, Brett! It is great to see you again!! These are terrific signs. I particularly like the “Backstreet Records” sign. The gramophone is always a welcoming symbol. I noted that the actual sign itself appears to be that of a record. Wonderful post, Brett! Cher xo
Thanks, Cher! π
π
How imaginative! Excellent work!
John, thanks! π
I really appreciate the quaint parts of east coast life that you write about. π

Hedy, humble thanks. π
Oh how I do like signage. In my country of birth, the farthest east I’ve set foot is QuΓ©bec City; hope I can get to the Maritimes!
I hope you do as well! π
The entire series is great fun. Well-done.
Thanks! π
What a wonderful assortment of finds. Does the mind a feel of relaxing strolls for now. Keep safe!
