Many photos from Vancouver’s Stanley Park are of the more traditional sights there, such as the native American totem poles about which I posted earlier. I certainly have taken my share of those but I also like less customary images of off-the-beaten-track details from a location such as Stanley Park. These images I captured from the Park are examples of ordinary details that convey a different sort of majesty for that place.

What a nice collection!
Elephant
Thanks.
I miss my home 😦
Yes . . . absence makes the heart grow fonder.
I’ve been here many times since childhood…one of my favorite places in Vancouver. I wish they still had the zoo here. 🙂
It’s a beautiful place.
Those are splendid views
Yes!
We had the pleasure of visiting Stanley some years ago. I like your “views!” M
Thanks!
Bush and Rock Minimalism my fav
Helen, thanks. That’s my fav too!
Nice shots, thanks for posting.
Thanks!
I love these nontraditional shots of a familiar place. Well done.
Darlene, thanks!
Wonderful compositions and the colour is perfect.
Thanks so much!
They don’t look ordinary the way they’re portrayed in your post. Beautiful.
Seeker, thanks!
Great alternate views. Details can tell a different story. We were at the park only last week. Such a neat place as it seems like it is from a completely different era and like going back in time.
Deb, Stanley Park is a wonderful urban greenspace. You live in yet another a beautiful part of your country (Alberta, I believe).
Yes, Alberta is very beautiful but we are lucky enough to also have a house in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia. I am not sure if you have stumbled across my other blog http://www.islandhomeblog.wordpress.com but the Gulf Islands have some of the most pristine shorelines I have ever seen. If you ever have a chance to visit them do it, they are amazing.
Oh — very cool! Thanks for mentioning your other blog and the tip about the beautiful Gulf Islands area.
No problem. The Gulf Islands are a hidden gem.
I’m all about the details, Brett! Love these pics you’ve shared today!!
🙂
Love the different approach – great captures!
Thanks!
I love this type of views; that is how I tend to see the world –from a different angle.
Thanks — me too!
Beautiful photographs! I particularly love the perspective with the grass in the foreground. Great job!
Thanks!
Lovely photos of a park I know well. And what a wonderful blog in general…
Pierre, thanks so much!
